Emily Starratt, MSW, RSW
Founder
(She/Her)

When I was 13, I experienced the loss of a parent, which became a pivotal moment in my life. This experience taught me that life is not picture perfect or only filled with happiness. Life, is all the joyful moments, the sad moments, the anxious moments and the challenging moments.

Life is a time to find ourselves and explore the balance and harmony we hope for. While it is full of challenging moments that leave us feeling overwhelmed and lost in our emotions, my hope is to help find some clarity and connection for children, youth and families.

My experience led to a career as a social worker. My work is a blend of advocacy, learning and counselling. I look at emotions as something to experience rather than eliminate. This happens through the tough conversations and exploring the messiness of life. We aren't perfect and nor should we be. What may seem like imperfections or "lemons," can also be beautiful.

My Experience

1fb17a35-507a-470f-8d11-5ac1a0bc28da-removebg-preview.png

I have worked with children, youth and families for over 10 years in various roles. I started my career in behaviour services supporting children and youth who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Through this role I realized that my passion was in building relationships, supporting individuals and helping to find ways to support expression and communication of emotions and experiences.

In 2018 I made the switch to become a Social Worker, where I continued my education in Master of Social Work (MSW). During my MSW I worked as a Social Worker in the Waterloo Regional District School Board and St. Joseph's Hospice London. I have completed further training in attachment theory, children and youth grief and solution focused.

Since completing my MSW, I have worked as a  child and family therapist for community organizations, where I continued to develop my passion for supporting children, youth and families. This led to my work with post-secondary students, staff and faculty, where I provided counselling to students, and wellness training to over 1500 leaders and professionals in the Western Community.  Today, I work in private practice in London, Ontario, supporting families through therapy, group work, and consultation.
